Day 1 Glasgow Highlights & Kelvingrove
Your tour departs from your hotel at 2:00 PM for a panoramic tour of this dynamic, friendly city with its wealth of Victorian architecture and modern culture. Drive around George Square and see its collection of monuments to famous Scots. Visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, a splendid, Spanish Baroque-style building housing one of Europe’s finest art collections, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Titian, and Dali. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner with your group. (D)
Day 2 Loch Lomond & Loch Ness Cruise
Depart for the scenic Highlands, driving alongside Loch Lomond, resplendent with lush islands, then across Rannoch Moor and through Glencoe – seeing mountains, moors and waterfalls along the way. Stop at Fort Augustus for a cruise on Loch Ness, famed for its beauty as well as the legendary monster. Continue to your elegant manor house hotel in Nairn. (B, D)
Day 3 Whisky Tasting & St Andrews
Visit the historic Blair Athol Distillery to discover the art of whisky making and sample a dram. Continue to St Andrews, the “Home of Golf”; take a panoramic drive, then explore the old city independently. Continue on to your gracious manor house hotel outside Edinburgh, set on 1,000 acres of picturesque grounds. Explore and dine independently this evening. (B)
Day 4 Edinburgh Castle, City Tour & Scottish Evening*
Take a panoramic tour of Edinburgh to see the main sights, from bustling Princes Street to the wide streets of the 200-year-old Georgian “New Town.” Walk along the Royal Mile, where compact medieval houses reach several stories tall. Visit Edinburgh Castle, perched high above the city on volcanic rock, and home to the Scottish Crown Jewels. You’ll have free time to explore in the afternoon, then experience a lively Scottish evening with dinner and traditional entertainment. Day 5 Independent Day in Edinburgh
Tour Edinburgh independently. Take a transfer to the city center and then spend your day sightseeing as you please on a hop-on, hop-off bus. Dine and explore as you wish into the evening. (B)
