From Rotorua Airport turn right onto Highway 30 (Te Ngae Road).
Continue along this road travelling straight through 2 round-abouts until you come to Sala Street (approximately a 5 minute drive).
Turn left into Sala Street and follow road until Hemo Road intersection.
Turn Left into Hemo Road which then takes you onto Highway 5. Continue along this road which will take you out of Rotorua.
Off Highway 5 turn right at first main intersection out of Rotorua (Highway 30)
to Te Kuiti/Tokoroa.
Proceed exactly 10km and take the first right turn into Apirana Road(you will pass the Marae and Horohoro School).
Proceed 1km to where road forks slightly -
take gravel road directly in front of you- Kearoa Road.
Follow this road 3.3kms to the end.
Proceed down tree lined driveway and press intercom buzzer at second set of gates.
Once you enter the property you may take the Guest Road to the lodge, or for a less steep and easier route, you may take the service road to the top.
ROAD TRAVEL TO TREETOPS – FROM AUCKLAND
Head south on Southern Motorway.
At bottom of Bombay Hills, turn left onto State Highway 2.
Continue south on State Highway 2
Carry straight ahead onto State Highway 27 (to Matamata)
Continue south to Tirau where i t hits Highway 5 to Rotorua.
Continue straight through Rotorua – Fairy Springs Road, Old Taupo Road heading south towards Taupo.
Immediately (300metres) after leaving the residential area of Rotorua (heading towards Taupo), turn right onto Highway 30 (to Tokoroa).
Travel exactly 10km down Highway 30 and take the first road on the right which is Apirana Road (signposted to Treetops Lodge, Horohoro School).
Travel approximately 600metres down this road and go straight ahead (ono gravel road) – this road is ca lled Kearoa Road.
Travel to end of Kearoa Road approximately 3kms.
At end of road, tree-lined lane with two “reddy-brown” houses set back below hills.
Go through gate and head up the hill (below houses) which will lead you approximately 2.5km through New Zealand native forest (you are now getting close!!)
Arrive at Treetops Lodge.
